I was nervous about these headrests due to the all over the board reviews, but I am SO glad I went with my gut and purchased them!! As most everyone else stated, the installation instructions are ridiculous but my husband still managed to install them himself in our 2009 Suburban thanks to some you tube videos along with instructions in the reviews. (you will need a couple of extra doohickeys from the auto parts store whether you choose to hard wire them, which we did, or use the car adapter. These are not expensive things, just wiring/fuse bits, but instructions and even the you tube videos are certainly not clear on that) He did an amazing job with little to no car wiring experience and because he did it himself vs professional installation I know that we can easily uninstall should we ever need or want to.
I ordered the grey which is darker than the grey leather in my car (I know someone said in a previous review that the headrests were lighter than their leather so I was surprised when they came and were dark, must just be many different colors of grey lether out there! :) but it's not so noticeable as to be an eyesore. The picture quality is BEYOND what I expected from something at this price point and even the game disc is much better than I expected it to be! (I mean it's not the Wii, but I imagined the old style worm game and things like that :) There are action games, card games, and educational games- more than 50 in all! I love that the headrests are adjustable #tilt up and down# so that my kids can each get the best view possible. I'm thrilled with the wireless headphones (can't believe they were included at this price!) so that I don't have to listen to one or two different movies at the same time or deal with wires everywhere. They also were much better quality than expected, and fit snugly on! The game controllers are very cheap looking and feeling, but I can't imagine they're gonna get a whole lot of use anyway other than on long trips maybe. As other reviews stated, the inside of the player is Sony which was another nice surprise!
All in all this was a super great purchase. It's too bad the instructions are so awful, and they really should include the part that goes to the cigarette adapter because it's useless as it comes in the box, but at this price point it deserves every one of the 5 stars I gave it!!! The saying is right that you get what you pay for, but in this case what you sacrifice for the price is convenience with installation NOT quality!! Highly recommend :)
